American Kennel club Meet the Winners of the 2024 AKC Agility Invitational

The 19th annual AKC Agility Invitational, Presented by YuMOVE saw some of the most agile dogs in the country. The competition aired on ESPN2 on Tuesday, December 24, and took place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on December 14 and 15 as part of AKC National Championship week.

Agility winners were crowned in different height divisions: 8 inch, 12 inch, 16 inch, 20 inch, and 24 inch. Dogs raced around predetermined obstacle courses and work with their handler to navigate the course the fastest without fault. The dogs with the fastest, cleanest runs, were the winners in their height divisions.

8-Inch Regular/Preferred Division Winners​

First Place​


The 8-inch division in the lowest height division in agility. This year, Papillon “Louis” and Andrea Samuels from Cape Coral, Florida won the 8-inch division with a time of 31.895 seconds.

Second Place​


In second place in the 8-inch division was Pomeranian “Merlin” and Cherlie Disque. The team from Port St. Lucie, Florida ran a time of 34.292 seconds.

Third Place​


Cavalier King Charles Spaniel “Dart” and Antonia Rotelle came in third place in the 8-inch division. The team from Dover, Pennsylvania ran a clean run, with a time of 34.843 seconds.

Fourth Place​


Pug “Muncie” and Kris Huett came in fourth place. The team from Fort Collins, Colorado, ran a clean run with a time of 37.258 seconds.

12-Inch Regular/Preferred Division Winners​

First Place​


Coming in first place in the 12-inch division is Anchorage, Alaska team Xoloitzcuintli “Tyra Banks” and Patricia Engleman. The team ran a time of 29.597 seconds.

Second Place​


Pyrenean Shepherd “Madeleine” and Pamela Vojtas came in second place in the 12-ich division. The Eustis, Florida team ran a time of 31.913 seconds.

Third Place​


In third place in the 12-inch division was American Eskimo Dog “Kiva” and Glenn Rawsky. The Vienna, West Virginia team ran a clean run, with a time of 32.486 seconds.

Fourth Place​


Lakeland Terrier “Phoebe” and Lori Napoli came in fourth place. The team from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania ran a clean run with a time of 33.608 seconds.

16-Inch Regular/Preferred Division Winners​

First Place​


The dog and handler team that came in first place in the 16-Inch division at the 2024 AKC Agility Invitational was Cocker Spaniel “Bristol” and Ron Morris. The Belvidere, Illinois ran a time of 31.393 seconds.

Second Place​


In second place in the 16-inch division was Brittany “Madison” and Halina Jones. The Elgin, Illinois team ran with a time of 31.443 seconds.

Third Place​


Australian Shepherd “Java” and Cindy McElligott came in third place in the 16-inch division. The Hoffman Estates, Illinois team ran a clean run, with a time of 31.513 seconds.

Fourth Place​


Pumi “Xuby” and Kathie Ogden came in fourth place. The San Marcos, California team ran a clean run with a time of 32.586 seconds.

20-Inch Regular/Preferred Division Winners​

First Place​


In first place in the 20-Inch division at the 2024 AKC Agility Invitational was Viszla “Scorch” and Carol Keller. The Costa Mesa, Califronia team won with a time of 33.570 seconds.

Second Place​


In second place in the 20-inch division was All-American Dog “Cricket” and Flora Steffan. The Ridgeville, Washington team ran with a time of 33.686 seconds.

Third Place​


Siberian Husky “Kymber” and Rick Casper came in third place in the 20-inch division. The Marcellus, New York team ran a clean run, with a time of 36.592 seconds.

Fourth Place​


Golden Retriever “Gator” and John Schroepfer came in fourth place. The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin team ran a clean run with a time of 37.674 seconds.

24-Inch Regular/Preferred Division Winners​

First Place​


The team that came in first place in the 24-Inch division at the 2024 AKC Agility Invitational was Weimaraner “Sterling” and Lori Barbee. The Huntington Beach, California team won with a time of 30.537 seconds.

Second Place​


In second place in the 24-inch division was Doberman Pinscher “Rocco” and Lynn Fernandes. The Bumpass, Virginia team ran with a time of 34.138 seconds.

Third Place​


German Shepherd Dog “Cinder” and Joe Sheridan came in third place in the 24-inch division. The Overland Park, Kansas team ran a clean run, with a time of 35.048 seconds.

Fourth Place​


Belgian Sheepdog “Stryker” and Jean Fisher came in fourth place. The Villa Grove, Illinois team ran a clean run with a time of 35.570 seconds.
